Between 4:30 AM and 5:00 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel in our tourist transport. We will travel south toward Cusipata for approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast including scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, fruit salad, and hot drinks.
After breakfast, we continue for about 40 more minutes until we reach the control point, where the hike begins. At this point, your guide will provide instructions and recommendations before starting the trek.
The hike to Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca (5,020 m / 16,466 ft) takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Along the way, you’ll see local wildlife, especially llamas and alpacas tended by herders in traditional Andean clothing. You’ll pass through stunning valleys and snow-capped peaks, including views of **Ausangate Mountain**.
Near the summit, the colorful mountain range of Vinicunca begins to appear. We arrive between 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Here, your guide will explain the mountain’s geology, ecosystem, and the origin of its natural colors. You’ll have time to take beautiful panoramic photos of the mountain from various viewpoints.
Next, we begin our return route via the Red Valley Viewpoint, walking through a red-hued Andean desert landscape. We’ll stop at another scenic point of Vinicunca before heading back to the starting point, where our vehicle will be waiting.
We then return to the restaurant to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch with a variety of Novo Andean cuisine. Finally, we head back to Cusco, arriving in the city at approximately 5:00 PM.
