One of the highlights of the trip is the exhilarating hike to the famous Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), a natural Andean wonder renowned for its vibrant colors and breathtaking landscapes. Perfect for adventurous travelers seeking a full cultural, historical, and natural experience, this tour offers the ideal blend of relaxation, discovery, and outdoor excitement.

Day 1 – Arrival in Cusco & City Tour

Upon arrival at the Cusco airport, you’ll be greeted by our staff holding a sign with your name and transferred to your selected hotel. You’ll be welcomed with a traditional coca tea to help you acclimate. In the afternoon, around 1:00 PM, we begin our guided city tour including the Plaza de Armas, Cusco Cathedral, Santo Domingo Church, Coricancha Temple, and nearby archaeological sites: Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay. The tour ends around 7:00 PM.

Day 2 – Sacred Valley Tour & Train to Aguas Calientes

Between 8:00 and 8:20 AM, we pick you up to start the Sacred Valley tour. Our first stop is the viewpoint of Corao followed by the Pisac Market and Pisac archaeological complex. Next, enjoy a buffet lunch in Urubamba. In the afternoon, we visit the Ollantaytambo fortress. Around 4:30 PM, you’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes, arriving at approximately 6:10 PM. Overnight at a selected hotel in Aguas Calientes.

Day 3 – Machu Picchu Tour

After breakfast, we take the bus to Machu Picchu and enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of the citadel, visiting key areas such as the Main Plaza, Circular Tower, Sacred Sun Dial, Royal Rooms, the Temple of the Three Windows, and more. Optional: hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (without guide). After the tour, return by bus to Aguas Calientes and take the train back to Ollantaytambo. You will be transferred to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 4 – Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca

At 5:00 AM, we pick you up and drive south towards Cusipata. After breakfast, we continue to the trailhead and begin a 1 hour 20-minute hike to Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain), located at 5,020 m.a.s.l. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of llamas, alpacas, and snow-capped peaks. After exploring and taking photos, we descend via the Red Valley viewpoint and return to our transport. Lunch is served en route before returning to Cusco at around 5:00 PM.

Day 5 – Departure

After breakfast, we transfer you to the Cusco airport for your flight to Lima. Our team will assist with check-in procedures. End of services.

The “Complete Cusco with Rainbow Mountain – 5 Days” tour was an unforgettable experience. I enjoyed exploring the rich history and vibrant culture of Cusco, and the highlight was definitely the hike to Rainbow Mountain. Seeing those incredible colors in person was breathtaking and well worth the effort. The itinerary was balanced, allowing time to appreciate both the city and the stunning natural landscapes. Our guides were friendly and very knowledgeable, which made the trip even better. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience the best of Cusco and Rainbow Mountain in a few days.
