Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Santa María – Santa Teresa (Biking & Rafting)

We depart from Cusco early in the morning and head toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we’ll enjoy a buffet breakfast. We continue driving to Abra Málaga (4,350 m.a.s.l.), the starting point for our downhill biking adventure. After a safety briefing and receiving our gear, we begin a 3-hour descent (55 km) through changing landscapes, from snowy peaks to tropical forest.

We finish the bike ride in Huamanmarca and continue by private transport to Santa María (1,200 m.a.s.l.), where we enjoy lunch. Optionally, you can join a thrilling white-water rafting activity on the Vilcanota River (class III–IV, US$35 extra, available April–December), with full safety equipment provided.

Later, we head to the Cocalmayo hot springs for a relaxing soak before reaching Santa Teresa for our overnight stay.

Day 2: Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes (Zip Line & Hike)

Start your day with a choice: hike or zipline (optional US$30). The zipline adventure includes flying across several cables and walking across a high-wire bridge, taking about 2 hours and operated by trusted professionals.

After regrouping at the Hydroelectric station (Hidroeléctrica), we pass the checkpoint for the Machu Picchu National Park and enjoy lunch. Then we begin a 2.5-hour scenic hike to Aguas Calientes, passing the archaeological site of Intihuatana and observing views of Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, and other surrounding peaks.

Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 3: Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco

The most anticipated day! We rise early to experience sunrise at Machu Picchu. You can walk up or take a shuttle bus (US$12). Once inside, your guide will lead a 2-hour tour visiting major landmarks such as the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Three Windows.

After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore on your own or, if you’ve reserved in advance, climb either Huayna Picchu (2,800 m) or Machu Picchu Mountain (3,082 m) – each for an additional US$25 with limited spots.

In the afternoon, return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our transport will be waiting to take you back to Cusco.
