This package also includes a full-day hike to the stunning turquoise waters of Humantay Lake, nestled in the Andes at over 4,200 meters above sea level. Perfect for nature lovers and adventurers, this tour blends cultural exploration with thrilling landscapes, guided by professionals and with comfortable accommodations throughout.

Day 1 – Arrival in Cusco & City Tour

Upon arrival at the airport, we will be waiting with a sign bearing your name and transfer you to your chosen hotel. At the hotel, you can enjoy a coca tea to help you acclimatize to the altitude. In the afternoon (around 1:00 PM), we begin the Cusco City Tour. We will visit the Plaza de Armas, Cusco Cathedral, Santo Domingo Church, the Qoricancha Temple, and the nearby archaeological sites of Q’enqo, Puka Pukara, Tambomachay, and the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman. The tour ends around 7:00 PM.

Day 2 – Sacred Valley Tour & Train to Aguas Calientes

Pick-up between 8:00 AM and 8:20 AM. We stop at the Corao viewpoint for an introduction to the Sacred Valley. Visit Pisac Market and Pisac Archaeological Site. Continue to Urubamba for a buffet lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Ollantaytambo fortress. At 4:40 PM, board the train to Aguas Calientes. Arrive around 6:10 PM and overnight at the selected hotel.

Day 3 – Machu Picchu Tour

After an early breakfast, we take the bus up to Machu Picchu for a 2-hour guided tour of the citadel, visiting its main structures such as the Main Plaza, Circular Tower, Sacred Sun Clock, Royal Quarters, Three Windowed Temple, and more. Optional: Hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (unguided). Later, return by bus to Aguas Calientes and take the train back to Ollantaytambo. From there, a transfer will take you back to Cusco.

Day 4 – Humantay Lagoon Hike

Pick-up from your hotel between 5:00 AM and 5:30 AM. Travel to Mollepata in the Apurímac Valley for breakfast. Continue to Soraypampa (3900m) and begin a 1.5-hour hike to Humantay Lagoon (4200m). Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and return for lunch. Transfer back to Cusco and drop-off near the Plaza de Armas.

Day 5 – Departure from Cusco

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the airport. We recommend arriving at least 1 hour before your flight to complete check-in procedures.

The “Cusco Complete with Humantay Lake – 5 Days” tour was an incredible journey. I loved exploring Cusco’s rich culture and history, plus the highlight was definitely the hike to the stunning Humantay Lake. The turquoise waters surrounded by snow-capped mountains took my breath away. The itinerary was well-balanced, giving me enough time to enjoy both the city and nature without feeling rushed.
