This journey begins early in the morning with a transfer from your hotel in Cusco to the train station in Ollantaytambo, located in the Sacred Valley. From there, you will board a panoramic train that will take you to Aguas Calientes, the gateway town to Machu Picchu. Along the way, you will enjoy stunning views of the Urubamba River and the surrounding Andean mountains, making the adventure begin even before you arrive.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will board a bus that will take you to the entrance of Machu Picchu, located at 2,400 meters (7,874 feet) above sea level. Once at the Inca Citadel, you will be welcomed by an expert guide who will lead you through its most iconic monuments, such as the Temple of the Sun, the Main Square, and the famous agricultural terraces. Machu Picchu Full Day

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco one hour before your train departure time and drive you to the train station located in Poroy (30 minutes away). There, you will board a “PERURAIL” company train and start your journey towards the town of Aguas Calientes (2,000 meters above sea level), a trip lasting approximately 4 hours.

Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes station, you will have some free time to explore the town, grab a snack, and wait until 11:30 AM to head to the bus station. You will ascend about 400 meters on a zigzagging road for 30 minutes to reach the incredible world wonder, the “Sanctuary of Machu Picchu,” known as “The Lost City of the Incas.”

Machu Picchu Guided Tour

The guided tour officially begins at 12:00 PM at the Machu Picchu entrance. You will pass the control point where your entrance ticket will be checked. From there, the excursion through the citadel starts. You will visit the main areas of the ancient city, including the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the cemeteries. The guided tour will last over two hours.

After the guided visit, you will have free time to continue exploring the citadel, or if you prefer, to have lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge Hotel (not included), or return to Aguas Calientes to have lunch at one of the various restaurants.

Return to Cusco

Upon arrival at the Poroy station, our staff will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco.
