Depending on your location, you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado, the “Biodiversity Capital of the World.” Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed and taken on a brief city tour by bus before heading to the Capitanía Port to board a boat on the Madre de Dios River. Upon arrival at the lodge, you’ll enjoy a refreshing welcome drink, settle into your bungalow, and have lunch.
In the afternoon, accompanied by your specialized guide, you’ll visit Monkey Island, located just 5 minutes from the lodge. You’ll hike through lush jungle landscapes and observe a variety of monkey species in their natural habitat, including spider monkeys, capuchins, tamarins, howler monkeys, and more. Enjoy the sunset from the island before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight rest.
In the morning, you’ll set off on a jungle hike to reach the “Cocha Perdida” (Lost Lake), a protected ecosystem and vital refuge for a wide range of wildlife. You may spot giant otters, caimans, turtles, tapirs, multicolored birds, jaguars, and native fish species. The area remains untouched, featuring vast swamps and aguajales.
Continue to the Amazon Lookout Tower for panoramic views of the magical jungle, followed by a peaceful canoe ride around the lake. After returning to the lodge for lunch, you may optionally visit the botanical garden or relax in the Amazon pool. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Puerto Maldonado Airport for your return flight to Lima or Cusco.
