Itinerary
City Tour Summary

The City Tour in Cusco begins with pickup from your hotel approximately 30 minutes before the tour starts.
The first visit is to the **Golden Temple**, known as **Qoricancha**.
After this site within the city, we board our tourist transport to visit the main archaeological centers outside of Cusco: starting with **Sacsayhuamán**, known for its mysterious megalithic construction, followed by **Qenqo** and **Tambomachay**, while **Puca Pucara** is viewed from a distance.
The full tour lasts approximately 5 hours.

  • Start times: 9:00 AM or 2:00 PM
  • Tour duration: Approx. 5 hours
  • Difficulty: Easy

Qoricancha Temple

Also known as the **Convent of Santo Domingo**, Qoricancha was the most important temple of the Inca Empire.
Its architecture represents a fascinating fusion of Inca and Spanish colonial styles.
Inside, you’ll also admire beautiful and artistic colonial paintings.

Sacsayhuamán Archaeological Park

Located on the outskirts of Cusco, **Sacsayhuamán** is an enigmatic site built with massive carved stones, some standing over 9 meters tall and weighing more than 100 tons.
These stones are precisely arranged to form three large platforms measuring 390 meters in length.
If you take this tour in June, especially on **June 24th**, you’ll witness **Inti Raymi**, the Festival of the Sun — a vibrant and traditional cultural celebration.

Qenqo Archaeological Park

Qenqo was a ceremonial center dedicated to **Pachamama** (Mother Earth).
Though partially damaged by time, its structure remains impressive.
This amphitheater-like site was used for rituals involving the dead, who were laid on trapezoidal stone platforms during ceremonies.

Puca Pucara Archaeological Park

**Puca Pucara**, also called the “Red Fortress,” owes its color to the high iron content in its stones.
This site features military architecture including aqueducts, walls, rooms, and fountains.
Due to its proximity to Tambomachay, it is believed to have served as a defensive military outpost.

Tambomachay Archaeological Park

Known as the **Inca resting place**, Tambomachay is located just 100 meters from Puca Pucara.
Its finely carved stone channels and waterfalls, fed by natural springs, suggest the site was a sacred place of **water worship**.
